Norma Holmes

Norma Holmes

Norma Holmes was inspired to paint at an early age by her Grandfather. She remembers him painting while on vacation from California—mostly on the Santiam River near Cascadia, OR. In 1991 Norma moved to Sisters, OR. She is noted for her unique style, and diverse, grand landscapes of the High Desert. She paints en plein air when possible, with Mother Nature as her inspiration. For Norma, “every painting is a lesson, a joy, and a challenge.” She has been lauded by the Northwest Pastel Society. Her many awards include the American Women’s International Competition Best of Show. She exhibited at the International Museum of the Horse in Lexington, KY. Norma recently published Land Escapes, A Painted Journey on Oregon’s Eastside, which features 192 pages of her original art.
