Dawn Emerson

Dawn Emerson is the author of the book “Pastel Innovations” (2017) and is the producer of seven instructional videos for pastel and mixed media. Her work is influenced by printmaking and her desire to constantly push the boundaries of how the pastel medium can be utilized. She loves to pioneer new approaches to combining mediums like oil and pastel, and likens layering her work to an archeological dig. Dawn is sought after internationally as an instructor, demonstrator, and judge, and has won numerous prestigious awards for her artwork. Dawn and her husband, Bruce, and daschund, Izzy, live in Terrebonne, OR, near Smith Rock State Park on five acres.
Dawn is represented by the (PCA Gallery) Peterson Contemporary Art Gallery in Bend, OR.
